Sweat Equity & In-Kind Contributions to The Magic
We have a commitment to flexibility for all kinds of special events and unforgettable occasions. We are also committed to flexibility with budgets for the people who want to enjoy this place for campouts and events. Looking beyond the bottom line, we invite event organizers and wedding parties to contribute to the development of this space either through in-kind contributions of donated items, or by donating time completing projects on site.
Groups organize visits every spring March to May, either as a campout or as a coordinated site in a cabin. Numerous smaller projects range from spring cleaning, to painting, to planting spring starts in the garden, to brush-clearing and supervised burns. There are projects which come with supervision and management, or maybe there’s a project that you and your friends want to pitch to us with which you can budget and take the lead.
Some projects need materials, others will not. Some projects will only need a handful of people for a short time, others may need a couple dedicated folks consistently over multiple visits. The projects do not equate more than $2,000 per completed weekend on site. Sweat equity projects will never be valued for more than 50% of the site fee for the event.
Typically, a group of 10+ guests will coordinate their campout weekend dates, their meals, and project specifics in advance and organize to come up in advance. Over a 2-day period of time, volunteer groups commit to and complete approximately 10 hours of volunteer time. Of course this comes with enjoying the space, and conversations about planning your upcoming event.
